Positive Purchasing and Silf, the Swedish National Association of Purchasing and Logistics (www.silf.se) have today announced the formation of a collaborative partnership.
A priority area for the partnership will be the provision of best practice tools, training and programs to enable world class strategic procurement and supply chain management in public and private sector organizations of all sizes.
Commenting on the partnership, Positive CEO Jonathan O’Brien said: “There are so many synergies between Silf and Positive Purchasing that it made a more formalized collaboration a natural development.
“Equipping both the current and future generations of procurement and supply chain practitioners with the ability to deliver strategic value through the development of professional skills and core competencies is at the heart of both our offerings.
“We look forward to working more closely with the team at Silf, exploiting our common and complementary areas of expertise with the aim of extending the international reach of both organizations.”
Carina Dahllöf, VD/CEO of Silf said: “By co-operating more closely with Positive Purchasing we will be delivering added value to Silf members and global organizations worldwide.
“We have worked with Jonathan O’Brien and the Positive team for a number of years now in support of Silf’s aim to improve efficiency, profitability and professionalism in the supply chain. What this new partnership gives us is the opportunity to collaborate on research and thought leadership projects to create a new map of modern best practice procurement.”
Prior to formalizing the working relationship, the two organizations have collaborated on the translation into Swedish of Jonathan O’Brien’s books on Category Management in Purchasing and Supplier Relationship Management to support the respected Silf Competence programme. With translation under way, a Swedish language version of the award-winning Negotiation for Procurement Professionals is expected to complete the strategic procurement trilogy during 2018.
Jonathan O’Brien will be speaking on ”How to buy digital success as a CPO” at Silf’s Supply Chain Outlook: Digital Innovation in the Supply Chain event in Stockholm on 23rd November 2017. For more information about the event program or to book a place, visit the Silf website.
